I always wonder how much does it really, at the end of the day if you ever opened a keyboard and look at the actual thickness of the AT strip... don't know, probably it does to some extent, but I still believe that velocity curves/response play the main part (I can see how much it matters e.g. when I use the Rav275 on the iPad and play with its velocity curve, without touching the master's touch response)

@maxpiano -- I found it depended on the material. Maybe I'd be OK for 95% of the time, but when it was a bother, it was a real bother. Things like hammering out 16th note fifths quickly, percussive chords and similar were a mess, but worked perfectly on a non-aftertouch board. Maybe I could have learned to overcome it, but ... the new NS3 had just came out, so ....

Sure cphollis, I didn't mean your perception was not accurate, that was not my intent, just sharing some thoughts and since you mention fast repetitions, I still think that 3rd sensor and velocity curve play a relevant part in that case, but regardless technicalities one has to choose what he/she finds best to play

NS2 used the TP40M... or at least definitely not the TP40L, a lighter action that Kurzweil has often used. Though it is possible that the NP5 uses a heavier-than-M version of the TP40. (And thanks for mentioning the third sensor, which I forgot about, though is still not something that has an impact on feel per se.)

I can confirm the Piano 5 has the TP40H. Nord gave me the answer.
