This is The Way.
This is exactly how I do it also. Except, I've got a Lounsberry Organ Grinder pedal in between the T&F and Vent II if I need to really piss off my guitar player.

Trying to decide between the Tall & Fat and the TF&W, and this post has me believing there is nothing to gain by going stereo through the TF&W and into the Vent 2? Do I lose anything at all by going mono, if not I don't see any advantage to spending the extra $$ for the stereo version. Thanks!!

No you don’t loose anything, the Vent input is mono anyway and goes out in stereo. Using the T&FW instead of the T&F with a vent because the T&FW is stereo is in fact waste of money
