Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
I've just checked it: I can "clearly" hear the click in your recording but I wasn't able to hear anything "strange" on my Stage 3 with the Grand Imperial XL at this note. Really nothing.
I've also changed soft release, string resonance and pedal noise to look if this might have an influence but this wasn't the case (also using the Triple Pedal).

Thanks for reporting back. This is odd...
Have you tried listening with headphones or speakers? I have found it's hard to hear it when using speakers. I will do some more tests to track down what the exact variable is.
Remember though that to hear it you have to actually *press* thesustain pedal.
Anyway thank you for your feedback! If someone else more wants to jump in and report back as well...that would be much appreciated.

Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
I did use headphones and listened to both your recording and my instrument with quite a high volume. There was this artefact in your sound but not in mine (the XL version). I’ve checked with and without pedal. Really strange...Hlaalu wrote:Thanks for reporting back. This is odd...

Strange indeed... tomorrow I'll be checking and reporting back.
Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
In XL version the notes are all sampled, one by one. In L versione they are are sampled in an interval of 3 semitones. So, in L version, if they sampled your strange notes you'll have 3 strange notes, but if they don't sampled your stage note you'll not have any strange note.
Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
Quite so! But that's not the point here. The L version may or may not have the artifact, I haven't tried it, but the strange thing is that I can hear it in the XL and Nordlicht, who is also using the XL, can't.hrestov wrote:In XL version the notes are all sampled, one by one. Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
@Hlaalu: I've done a recording with my Stage so that we can compare the sounds. I don't hear anything strange or this "click" in my recording although my sound is far more brighter than the sound of your recording.
I've started with an INIT piano program and set the Grand Imperial XL as the only sound with nothing else activated or changed. Soft release, string resonance and pedal noise are ON.

Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
Uhmmm... well first of all thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
I am looking forward for this very afternoon when I'll be able to get my hands back on the Stage. I'll do more tests, but yes as you say it sounds brighter than mine, and I have to check for other reverb/eq stuff that I might have forgotten to mention in my first post.
I'll be back soon

Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
I think I've found the culprit. Turn "soft" ON in the piano EQ section. String resonance ON and sustain pedal pressed, the click becomes audible. Another way is to turn the general EQ ON and increase the treble a bit.
So in conclusion I have to say, I couldn't hear it as well with the EQ switched OFF altogether. I remember another thread where a user said something similar about the Royal Grand I believe, although in that case the EQ had to be much more heavily manipulated for the click to become audible.

Re: Audio artifact found in Imperial Grand
Yes, confirmed, also here with "soft". Probably some kind of resonance as a result of the EQ settings.Hlaalu wrote:I think I've found the culprit. Turn "soft" ON in the piano EQ section.
