The rest of us are going to party down!
I understand your wishes. A few observations from abroad.

1 ) The USA leads in death toll world wide, unfortunately.

2 ) The idea of a "hot spot" can be misleading, see #4.

3 ) In Germany today besides 1 out of about 300 counties have been below the threshold of "max. 50 new cases within 100.000 people within a week" now, which is good. I.e.: NO hot-spots anymore.

4 ) THOUGH wherever a crowd of some dozen people gathered ... Corona was and is back (big family parties, baptists convention etc.). However, containment seems to work better now than months ago.

5 ) Current protests are understandable in the US AND will worsen the Corona situation (again), see #4.

Anyway, wishing you luck with the long awaited gigs.

Wow. Our right-wing „it’s all just flu“ conspiracy-theorist Corona-Protesters held up Sweden‘s no-lockdown approach as an example for months.
PLEASE, keep your politics off this board. There are plenty of other sites for that.
My apologies.

It’s just weird to have seen all the „arguments“ for so long and then realise that Sweden is doing pretty much exactly the same thing as we are here in Germany, except making some/many of the measures voluntary. (Making them voluntary here would make it far more difficult to claim reimbursement for losses via existing frameworks here, and also, by and large Swedes, being a much smaller population, seem to have a much smaller absolute number of people who’d ruin it for everyone if they weren’t regulated.)

I’m sorry to have added politically charged phrases to what was primarily just a surprised revelation. You’re right that political argument has no place here.

Analogika, in context I get why you mentioned it. I know I'll get flamed for this, but at least you didn't mention George Lloyd. I totally get politics can be divisive. However, Musicians have always been at the fore front of political commentary., and dare I say social change: What's Going On, Fortunate Son, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Eve of Destruction etc etc. Seems counter intuitive to be chastised for even the mention of (now) worldwide social movement, because the mere mention of said topic is deemed inappropriate: advocate that a black man ought to have the same human rights that many of us take for granted. Yes, off topic, mentioned because the turn the thread made, and even if posted in OT section, verboten. I'll leave it at this and take my lumps and in the future stick to the ever more important EV Z1Xa v. QSC K 8.2 comparisons. Lyrics to Strange Fruit (Billie Holiday song about a lynching) written in 1937. We sure have made progress. Sincere apologies in advance.

Southern trees bear a strange fruit
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees
Pastoral scene of the gallant South
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
Scent of magnolia, sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh
Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck
For the sun to rot, for the tree to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

JayDee - his name is George Floyd.

Has anyone followed in Woody Guthrie’s footsteps and affixed a “this machine kills fascists” label to their keyboard? Plenty of billboard space on the back of the grand...

Those are amazing lyrics, but I'm pretty sure Analogika was talking about a disease that's been going around which has stopped the gigs. But I like your thinking, the best thing to do is categorise every issue into one of two possible camps. It saves time with annoying and tedious debates on specific topics.

I don't hear JayDee categorizing issues...I hear him expressing pain. I thank him.

Political and social commentary or "observation" is not appropriate for this site. This is a Nord user site. I do not care about your unrelated opinions, no matter how much you want to tell me about them.

Sure. In that case, I'd like to express to you all my sheer unmitigated joy at the recent release of the Husqvarna 550 XP chainsaw. Game changer.

Thought I'd give you all an update on our first gig in the sequence. I see it as a preview of things to come ...

This is an outdoor venue, run by the town. Free entertainment outdoors on the weekend for retirees. There's a burger grill and partial bar service, it's a nice venue at the local park.

Now, there's a barrier surrounding the space. You have to get a (free) ticket for the limited number of tables. Masks are required to enter, but may be removed once seated. They now have servers that come to your table vs. queueing. Dancing is discouraged, but not prohibited (?).

They tried this last weekend and were generally successful enforcing distancing within the perimeter. The crowd was said to be enthusiastic.

However, immediately outside the perimeter there was a vastly larger crowd, with lawn chairs, coolers and doing what they pleased, all bunched up against the perimeter.

We're expecting the same deal when we play.

You first. Keep us posted on your status. Good luck.

Me? I'm never gigging again until Nord fixes the shitty organ tone and lack of functions on my Stage3. And, the clav samples are tired.
