A lot of us kvetched for an XL of the Grand Lady and we sorta kinda didn't get it with the White. That's when I personally realized that I was never going to leave the aforementioned Big Three and that barring a major leap in technology, which will require a major new Nord, they will never be bettered. I'm a Bright player live always, and then Bosie or Lady D when entertaining women in my salon.

Same ethos goes for the Uprights. Yes, the Amber-Grand-Mellow group have deeper samples and are more perfect than the earlier ones, but in the end the Black-Blue-Rain era is the classic, crappier-than-a-grand-but-still-great era. I play the Black almost exclusively when I'm feeling uprighty.
Still a fan of the Bosie and Lady D - the White XL is a B not a D so I wasn’t expecting a better Lady D with that one. I would still be interested in an XL Lady D but I agree those classics are pretty great. My current go to grand quad pack is White-LadyD-Bosie-Studio1(C7). They’re all good :-)

These four are also my favorite grands, albeit in a different order (according to how often I use them): Bosie, White, Studio 2, Lady D.
I tried several others along the way,but always came back to these four.

Among uprights, it's the Amber or the Mellow (another Bosie) for me, both very different in character though.

I also like the amber upright a lot. Of course, one of the reasons that I think it pleases a lot of people is that the actual piano that they sampled, the Grotrian Concertino upright, is one of the top uprights available. Having played one, it is a gorgeous sounding acoustic piano, so its no surprise that the sampled version sounds this good
