Based on a post I saw on another forum, the plan would be to allow use for all Nords, not just the Wave2. It would be very useful on the Stage3 as well.

Anyone with an iOS device, a lightning to USB adapter and this app could add 4 LFO's to a Nord for $5.

I’ve used steppolyarp in this way, I’m sure this would also work.

Not such a good deal if you don't have an iOS device though!

Even better deal, learn a bit of PureData
https://puredata.info/ and make as many LFOs as you want (and more).

Anything can be approximated with free software these days. However, there are plenty of people out there that still buy hardware and see the benefit in convenience and the tactile nature of knobs for programming. The great thing is how completely integrated it is with my patches, which has modernized my P6. I've owned plenty of pieces of auxiliary hardware that work great, albeit within their own ecosystem that doesn't play well with others. I've also bought plenty of wonky software that were supposed to work with specific hardware, yet failed at even that task. Steve has tailored the LFE to integrate perfectly with specific synths and it simply works as advertised.
Now I'm not Steve's PR guy, I'm simply a paying customer. I've been complaining to anyone who would listen about how insane it is that DSI/Sequential still haven't learned the obvious importance that categories serve for sorting through the massive amounts of presets available on their machines. I fully realize that there are librarian programs for that, but I'm sick of dealing with them. At the end of the day, the less I interact with the computer while in music mode, the more enjoyable I personally find it. Fortunately Steve added categories for the LFE with an update. When I pointed out that there was no "strings" category in an email, he swiftly got back to me within the hour with an updated firmware that added said category, even more impressive considering he's in a drastically different timezone.
Why I'm writing all this is purely for a selfish reason. I was one of the people that was initially harsh on the Wave 2 for the lack of modulation options. Problem is I started to really listen to some of the sounds coming from Nord synths and soon realized why many folks out there love them. I now have a Wave 2 on pre-order and I'm hoping there's enough interest for Steve to add support for it in the expectation that it will do as much for my Wave 2 as it has for my P6. Again, it's simple and it works, which was, at least from my outsider's view, a large reason why I thought certain users gravitate towards Nord.

I agree. I really hope support for the Wave2 (and other Nords for that matter) gets added to the LFE. It'd tempt me to consider purchasing a Wave2, that's for sure.

Ive had my Wave 2 since 2020, and got the LFE a few months after, in the fall that same year.
Great module!
little bit hard to control sometimes if i want to make a pitch seqeunce but with patience, I can get wave 2 to do that, and vectoring, and what i call 'wild' wave sequencing. these are the main ways I use it. I also use it to either map arp being on or off, arp rate, envelope stage amounts, mess with ring mod or delay params, or do wave shape changes on the fm, or the va engines, or having the lfo amount go from 523 hz down to below 100 hz which can be fun to have automated.

I basically consider it part of the wave 2 now - they go together well in my opinion.
the maker of the LFE said this past march hes not making any new ones, so best chance to buy would be looking at the used market. i bought it because i wanted a hardware module to control that, and i think that was before that ipad app thingy [i now have an ipad though, but prefer the hardware box anyway].
LFE is definitely compatible since mid 2020, with wave 2 though , for sure. wave 1, i dont know, but there is a 'cc synth' mode where many params can be manipulated that way. I do that to control my legend organ slider levels via midi, also good fun!
