Please don't let this be an April Fools joke! But it was announced on the 2nd, right?

Re: Nord Grand with Kawai Action
Based on the weight, it can't be a VPC1 action. Probably the RHIII of the MP7SE/MP8 or variant of it.maurus wrote:It might be based on the VPC1 or some evolved version of it..On the other hand Clavia doesn't say "wooden" action, hence it is probably more like the action in the MP7/ES8.

Re: Nord Grand with Kawai Action
Wow that looks great!
For years many threads have picked apart the FATAR action as the main letdown of all Nord products, suggesting that one of the big companies Yam/Kaw/Roland/Korg were approached to use their action instead. We have dismissed that idea repeatedly and said it would probably never happen and then BOOM! the mothership has responded
Well done Nord. Cant wait to see one in the music shop and give it a try

Re: Nord Grand with Kawai Action
Smart move by Nord I think. Catch more of the retro vibe, deliver a premium aesthetic, etc. If I had to buy a digital piano for primarily home use, this would be the one.
Then again, I have to be realistic. Only incremental upgrades over my NP4. An extra six pounds to schlep. But certainly a beauty to look at. And I'm sure that Kawaii action is super tasty, otherwise why would they bother?
Since I'm doing a lot of small acoustic gigs, this would be a very nice stage prop. Especially with a small topper board.

Re: Nord Grand with Kawai Action
It's a matter of how important those few upgrades are: 2 GB piano RAM vs. 1, better action, nicer aesthetics/ergonomics (and related, a usable top surface for other things)cphollis wrote:Then again, I have to be realistic. Only incremental upgrades over my NP4.

Re: Nord Grand with Kawai Action
Stage has so many more controls, you couldn't stick with that look/form factor. And Stage already has the 2 GB piano memory. So all that's left is the better piano action... which may be a mixed blessing if it is worse for organ/synth.tomzi wrote:A Nord Grand Stage 88, would be very nice......cphollis wrote:Nord Grand Stage 88 anyone?
