very recently (last week) went through my regular gig programming and knocked down ALL piano levels by -6dB across all programs. gigged with it Friday night and that was the END of organ volume issues for me. no more excess rotary overdrive distorting my organs just to make them heard. I should have done this a long time ago!

bless, pablo

To echo Pablo's point, I constantly tweak programs during gigs and, when I hear an adjustment I like, I immediately store it. Over the years I've found my programs to have organ set at 100% on the dial, and pianos anywhere between 12:00 & 3:00 o'clock.

It's true that Nord's organ sounds end up being a bit lower volume compared to other sounds (have seen this in NE2, NE3, NE5, NS2, NS3). Going through each program and re-balancing the non-organ sounds lower as Pablo suggested is one way to solve it. The way I've solved it for many years is running my Nord organ sounds into a Ventilator going to a separate stereo channel in my mixer. Then I can simply adjust the volume on the mixer for the organ and that works really well.

I just unplugged my organ swell pedal and voila! Sound restored. Hope everyone else has same success.

SOLVE PROBLEM!!

Hi, I had the same error only with my organ sounds, the rest of the sounds (piano, synths) sounds good.
What I found and it works for me was:
1. Go to SYSTEM menu
2. Search for CONTROL PEDAL TYPE (11/14)
3. Switch to YAMAHA FC7 NC (I think the NC means NO CONTROL) The others, had numbers like 23% and it changed like a glitch
4. Thats it!!! =D

Hope it works for y'all!!

NC is Normally Closed, meaning when connected and not touched, the pedal circuit has a closed electrical loop, that you break by pushing the pedal. The other type of pedal is NO (Normally Open) where it works the other way around: pushing the pedal creates the closed loop. Most synths can deal with either type, sometines after telling them, sometimes by sensing NC or NO at startup.

Hm... that must be an error in the post above, the FC7 is an expression pedal, not sustain (which could be NC or NO). The manual does not mention anything about "FC7 NC" either. See Page 54 section "CTRL Pedal" : Range: Roland EV7 (default), Yamaha FC7, Korg, Fatar (and Studiologic).
