Re: Yamaha MODX8 as external keyboard for NS3C pianos

Hi,
I think your will be glad with the MODX8. I ordered one after having studied the interface (videos and manual) and played it extensively for hours in the shop. I'm also curious how it will work together with my electro 5D. I also searched for some ligth-weight 88 keys and are planning to put the electro 5D on top, playing the piano sounds of the nord with these 88 keys. Of course the action is a compromise but my alternative is to carry my Yamaha CP5 - which is as heavy as the RD... My back won't bear this any longer.
14kg for the MODX8 and 9 for the Electro - that's great. Unfortunately the MODX8 is about to arrive only in March/April... Nevertheless - a great keyboard and absolutely without any comptetitor in that price range (imo).
Best wishes
Carsten.

Hi Carsten,

same problem here, beyond 50s the back is not doing a perfect job anymore ;)

Will see if there’s a MODX8 available for a test at Big M. in Cologne, although they claim to have it on stock from mid of March. Big T. in the south is showing availability in 2-3 weeks from now ... :o
