Sounds like the OP is making a last ditch effort to talk himself out of buying a stage 3.

My stage 3 compact kicks the living sh!t out of every other keyboard there has ever been.

Sweetwater now has them in stock.

I placed my order for the NS3 Compact the day they were announced. I had an NS2 and knew I would have to reprogram all my sounds. The NS 3 is a dream to program and play. Best musical purchase I have made since the NS2!

I'm a giant fan of Nord and have been for many years (I own a Stage 2, Stage 3 and an old Electro Rack 2 module) but I SURE DO WISH they would have made the Stage 3 with 76 keys (high G). I REALLY miss those extra few notes. A high-up Nord dude told me they don't do that because the original 73 Rhodes was.....obviously 73 keys. If the Stage 3 had nothing BUT Rhodes sounds, it would make sense. But of course there's all kinds of sounds in the keyboard. Ludicrous reasoning to me. Not trying to dog the company, just giving my $.02 worth.

Are your talking about the NS3 Compact with waterfall keys from E to E? The NS3 HP76 has those 3 extra keys, still from E but up to G.

You are 100% correct. I placed my order that same day and waited very impatiently for it. I sold my NS2 and actually picked up a second NS3. Could not be happier and couldn't image what they would add to this that I would make me jump to it. Basically between the two of them I have eliminated the need for all my other boards. Just awesome!

Not anytime soon, I believe. The current Stage 3 appears to be selling *very* well, and very few of us have even begun to fully exploit what it can do. Besides, I think the Stage team has had their hands full with the cadence of software updates.

NS4 ... what could we expect more than the NS3 ?
We can wait a few years to get 4 panels ;) when the DSP power will allow this.

I think it's more realistic to expect a Stage 3 EX in two years' time, with expanded memory and minor changes to details.

Then the Stage 4 in maybe four years?
I'd expect the Stage 4 to use new storage technology that allows access to much more memory at similar speed as the current Flash (I believe Kurzweil introduced it on their machines recently).

This would allow much larger storage and perhaps finally have Clavia introduce a new, more space-hungry, multi-layer user sample format for velocity-sensitive response (currently, only their own piano samples can do this).
