Good idea

Since a digital synth is basically a computer, I doubt you'll see anything relevant to your problem by opening it. I've opened mine, and there's really not much to see, except for the keyboard assembly that you might need to clean up on rare occasions.

I would suggest contacting Nord (I mean Clavia). Since they are a small company, an engineer will answer you directly. I did that once, and they were friendly and helpful.
