The Yerevan Metro Installation, a phenomenological approach.
Between 10th and 21th September ICAE2018 sonic artist Roland Kuit and Karin Schomaker held a workshop with the students at the TUMO Center for Art and Technology. How to create a sound art installation?
The students recorded the Yerevan metro system and edited these sounds with computers. F.i. to hear the emotion of, in the environmental sounds, the data was down pitched and the fundamentals (the frequencies we hear the objects of sounds) were filtered away. The residues were the upper harmonics, now in reach of our hearing, could be molded into a new language by these young students. All resulted into this installation at the top floor of the TUMO Center Yerevan, Armenia......

Hardly the same thing, but perhaps a distant relative, the memorial constructed at the site of the Oklahoma City bombing contains, among many other important elements, an inscription:
We come here to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. May all who leave here know the impact of violence. May this memorial offer comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity.
(emphasis added) These are places of great emotional power. Yet the world seemingly continues in this downward spiral of violence in many places. True enlightenment seems further away now than it has at any point during my ~60 years on this planet. Violence cannot be cured with more violence...

I very much agree with you Pablo Mastodon.
I hope art can be an answer to stupidity.
Or at least as a kindof wake up call.
