Re: What do you have on your empty panel space?
A few months ago, I provided my NS2 88 as backline for a national act doing a house concert. They used the empty space for this:

I was a little bit concerned at first and realized the bottle was nearly empty and also pretty well corked.

Re: What do you have on your empty panel space?
To help me find settings quickly, on all my boards, I make a reusable "cheat sheet" template.
After drawing the cheat template /blank master-grid on a white piece of paper, with the spaces about 1 1/4" square, big enough to see in a dim light, I clear adhesive tape this template to a piece of carboard from the back of pad of paper. I trim this down to size.
Then, I slip this thing into one of those clear page protectors, made for 3 ring binders, and cut the protector down to size, and tape it all together, entombing the clear protector grid on the right side of the board. The cardboard makes it stiff enough so that you can let it hang off over the edges, if need be.
Now you can use a Sharpie marker to write your settings on the thing; easy to erase with nail polish remover...
I have Velcro strips on all my keyboards, and, in this ^ case, I put the mate Velcro on the bottom of the grid. Then, I staple these V-strips to the whole grid, so they don't pull apart when peeling off the board.
I also mount one of those small Rolls amps with Velcro to the left side of the board.

Re: What do you have on your empty panel space?
Coke, usually....Like Coca Cola Guys!!!! No, never any liquid in a keyboard....It comes form my old habit with real wood piano when people were leaving their glasses on the side of a Grand or Upright piano and thus, damaging the wood....So, I could understand how EricL was scared of....

Whiskey's best because if it spills it evaporates quickly. This poses less risk for sensitive electronics.
