The only completely "blind" Lead is the 1/2/2X.
In the 3 (and the Wave) you see parameter values on the screen every time you turn a knob (and can review them without modifying them by shift+knob).
In the 4 and A1, you can see a current parameter's setting by using the copy/monitor button and turning the respective knob.
Ah! Like the shift+knob on my E5. Thanks

I know the Newer nord Lead use the Shift+Knob to display the Value which makes things better and the NL3 is the ultimate interface, don't know why anyone would not like it.(actually its a fun tool to use visually),I've used it with Midi CCs sent from my sequencer to the NL3 parameters creating dancing Encoders in time to music
However I never understood why Clavia couldn't have implemented the use of a Dot or a Dash on the Led of the older Nord Lead synths(1-2-2x) that don't have the Encoders so you could move a Knob and it would display a Dot/Dash on the led when in the exact position of that parameters value for the loaded preset, that way you'd also have some confirmation of parameter values when trying to move a knob value into the correct position or knowing where they are if trying to replicate a sound, surely this could be easy to implement.

Yes, I'd do the same. That being said, I don't remember the NL2 having this feature.

Both the NL2 and NL2X have manual mode. Great when working w/ a single slot.
For the A1 in addition to copy/monitor display you can also see the osc config, the wave, which FX are active, LFO shape, active morphs, filter type, voice mode, arp settings etc.

hi all,
the lead 3 led-encoders combinated with the futuristic/scientific layout and look,
for me are still one of the best to use and most aesthetic synthesizer interfaces of all time.
One of the most outstanding Nords ever, i like it very much.
just my 2 cent

RE: addressing lack of visual cues when programming
do the following solve the problem with real-time visual feedback (i.e. change patch/controls on Nord, see change on the computer/tablet screen)?
1) MIDI designer Pro (iPad?)
nord-lead-rack-forum-f12/nord-lead-4-vi ... t9729.html
2) For the Lead 4 - Synthmania editor (Win/Mac):
