Considering all of the current software bugs, forthcoming updates and not knowing what samples are onboard the NS3 from the factory, I think I'll "stay tuned" and wait to get info on the compatibility/update of the Sample 2.0 Library and Sample Editor.

I have too many progams on my NE5D73 dependant on non-factory installed samples -- it seems silly to me to drop that kind of money to be a "beta tester" and not be able to swap or add samples!

Being a Nord newbie with my NE5D purchase in December, I'm actually looking forward to rebuilding the programs/song lists on the NS3 Compact... unfortunately, that doesn't seem possible until the sample libraries (both from Nord and user samples) and editor are sorted out.

I was told yesterday by my Sweetwater rep; All Nord Models will arrive in their distribution center in October.

Why not order them from Europe? MusicStore.de has them for less than Sweetwater(compact $3478) and shipping to the US is $33 so it's about a wash. Only question is tarrifs

How is the warranty if you need to send it back to Europe?

Have you heard anything back? Would the Nord menus be in German or English? Also, would the power connection be any issue? Otherwise, I have no problem ordering from overseas.

I don't think any Nord devices so far have been multilingual (apart from the manual and the supporting computer software). It's reasonable to expect your customers to go through the extremely limited system options in English once, when setting up the machine.

Here is what I got from my guy at Kraft from their Nord Rep:

First and foremost, MF is incorrect. They will not have inventory available tomorrow and their shipment will leave Nord USA’s distribution center at the same time as Kraft’s. So we’ll have stock within a day or two of each other.

As for availability in Europe, Nord doesn’t delay their european shipments so that availability coincides with that of the US. Those reports are a good sign that Nord has begun their shipments, but it does take 4-6 weeks for their shipments to cross the ocean. That does appear to correlate with the dates we’ve received from Nord. And it seems that either the forum users reporting in have the 88-note models, or that Nord is ahead of schedule on the Compact models, so maybe we’ll see yours sooner than we were told!

>Otherwise, I have no problem ordering from overseas.<

You should, for several reasons. The first being if your shipment comes in with any kind of damage, you will have to deal with your overseas vendor to swap it out. You're not going to want to go through that aggravation, nor are you going to want to ship the unit back - see your friendly neighborhood UPS store for how much THAT will cost you, because the aforementioned overseas vendor is not, like Amazon, going to email you a prepaid shipping slip.

The second is that your order will take a century to get here, despite you paying a hefty shipping fee for the excitement of ordering it NOW, while all your pals who waited to order from Sweetwater will be happily playing away, while you email Dusseldorf every day, wondering where the heck your keyboard is. On a boat, at a dock, in a warehouse on the Jersey shore...somewhere....

Just ordered the compact from musicstore.de export. Shipping 8/14 and arriving by 8/28. Shipping was 60.00 and the price with shipping was a little bit less than what's on sweetwater and guitar ctr. Not afraid of warranty issues, I have other boards and even return shipping costs would be a small percentage of the instruments value.
