I have no idea what you're trying to say, so allow a few questions, please:

What do you mean you've "tried to factory reset the synth" — how EXACTLY did you try to do this?

Step 1 & 2: you removed Nr 5 in Grand section and added the Studio Grand in its place — using the Sound Manager? Is that correct?

"mod" means "model"?

What exactly did you rename in step 3? Where? How?

What is the difference between "type" and "mod" when you write "Now every sound in type and mod are called Studio Grand when i´m using type or mod." What do you mean by "using" "type" or "mod"?

Gommern wrote:Hello. First sorry if my english is a mess. I´ve tried to update my Ex2 with a couple of new piano sounds, and so far so good. But there is a problem now in the display. It won´t show me the sound am using. its just showing Italian Grand all the time. I can see the sound when i am changing but in the display it goes back to Italian Grand. Can anyone help me please?
The display will ALWAYS go back to showing the NAME OF THE PROGRAM.

Whenever you change ANYTHING — turn a knob, switch on an effect, or change a piano sample (as in your case) — the display will BRIEFLY show what you've changed, and then go back to showing the name of the program.

So if the program is called "Italian Grand", and you change the piano sample, the display will spend two seconds or so showing the name of the new piano sample, and then it will go back to displaying the name of the program — which is still "Italian Grand" until you change the actual name of the PROGRAM and save it.

That is all that is happening here.

If you call up program "Go and Jump" and switch on the piano section, and switch the piano to the Studio Grand sample, the display will read "Studio Grand" for a few seconds, and then go back to reading "Go and Jump", because that's the name of the program.

I am not sure what you mean about ``renamned the studio grand in mod 5´´. It sounds not right in my ears. In the piano ``Model´´ section you can´t store a name. I think you get the Stages workflow in a wrong way. The display under ``Model´´ shows you (numbers), which listed .npno sample, in combination with the text (the piano samples name) in the program section display, the piano sample you choose. The piano samples name shows up for a short time when you push the Model button as you can know which piano sample you have to use, and then the display goes back to the name of the (stored) program. It is in the program section you have to change and go between the stored (and named) programs. Do it with Program bank- Program 1-5 and the dial Wheel. The Piano sections Type and Model buttons are only a temporary select between different .npno samples. They will go back to the stored sample if you choose a different program. Are you more familar with the workflow now? If not I will try to get you even closer the goal. Here in this friendly forum, we are a huge numbers of Nord users, who will try to help each other with issues. Maybe I dont understand your issue correct. Any one else who can lead Gommern in a better direction than I can ?
Best regards Stefan.

Hello again. My works exactly the same way as this one:
It should have showed witch piano and mod i am using the display all the time , and not go back to, in this case Grand, Piano pad after a couple of seconds.

I´m not shure if it´s been this way all the time? or it is possible that i´m confusing myself. I hope so ;)

Thanks again all of you :)

Hej.
The Youtube video shows that he use Program A 01:1 and the program have the name ``Piano Pad´´. The piano sample (.npno) is YaC7 and it is listed at Model number 4. When he get around within the different Types and Models, you can see them for a short time, so you can know which sample you handle with. Then the display goes back to the program name ``Piano pad´´ which is the outset for the Program. Fully normal and it is in the way the workflow and system will go. Se your Program name as your sound and the different name of the .npno samples as under lines that you can changes diffrent piano to built a new program with. And of course: Dont forget rename your new Program if you want, so it can match the different .npno samples you have to choose with Model button. If your Stage works like this in the video, you have a fully functionally machine.
Best regards// Stefan.

My nord Stage 2 has always worked as in the video, and never stayed on the name of the model. I've had it for three and a half years.
