"resetting" NL2, if I recall correctly (not looking at manual or instrument right now) copies of the original 40 factory programs are embedded in stock ROM performances. Therefore, the restoration is a simple matter of copying those 40 programs, one at a time, into the original 40 locations. Somewhat tedious, yes, but by the time you get the first 4-5 done it becomes pretty simple.

I bought a used Nord Wave, but I figure it has the same buttons as the Lead series so I'm bumping this thread.

A lot of the buttons on my Wave will double-trigger when pressed, i.e. if I tap the Osc waveform selection button once, the arrow might jump two steps ahead instead of just one to the next waveform in the rotation. Is this a common problem on Nords after a while? Should a good cleaning fix this?

pablomastodon wrote:Not sure where your research took you, but that is incorrect info. Those switches are very high-quality German brand, Marquardt, with gold-plated contacts and it is very simple operation to open them for cleaning purposes. First you'll have to have complete access to panelboard assembly. Remove all knobs, remove upper chassis, remove panelboard from underside of upper chassis. Then you will see tiny latches on the lateral sides of the switches. By squeezing slightly, these unlatch and the plastic cover will easily lift off to reveal the contacts beneath.

"Series 6450" is the Marquardt part designation, with different suffixes for differently colored switch covers. Your favorite websearch engine will be your friend in finding a source for these.

Hi Pablo, I've been trying to resuscitate some of the buttons on my Nord Rack 2. Unscrewed everything, opened the damn thing but cant manage to lift the buttons from the base. Tried squeezing on the sides as you described, but nothing happens. Is there some type of other movement that I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
