The E Rhodes also had an active pre-amp installed along with some other mods.

yes, but the main thing is harmonising in ths rhodes, and harder tips, and work and work. My last suitcase mark 73 had the same sound. But i decided to get back to the real rhodes sound, deeper.

I regrettably sold my (suitcase) many years ago; I miss the sound -- the schlepping up and down the stairs not so much!
