If the ND3 brings the price down of the ND2 substantially, that will be good enough for me as a new ND user.

i'm a ND1-user and i was looking forward to get a ND2, but it had no single outs, so i did not buy one... after the first rumours about a ND3, i was sure that there would be single outs. But there are still no single outs. Let's wait for ND4... I really can't believe it.. Such a good sounding unit and no possibility for professional usage (compression, eq per channel)

Listened to the demos & the ND3 sure does sound great!! Not surprised really as all of the ND's (IMO) have sounded absolutely superb. I guess it comes down to new features/omissions that users want/don't want. @Atarikid you CAN eq per channel & although it lacks 6 outputs that shouldn't discourage you from soloing (or split panning) some channels to get individual sounds to your DAW/sampler, etc. Also if you route the midi to say Logic Pro, it's possible to record a pad performance as midi then separate the notes onto individual midi tracks. That being said I wish there was feature on the ND3 that would allow a user to switch between 1/4" trig inputs and individual audio outputs. That would be super-awesome!
Honestly the ND3 reverb gave me goosebumps. I could jam all day on it coupled with Nord Beat or el Octatrack -- just sayin'....
Cheers!

@Atarikid, I agree with skintechnician, with both ND2 and 3 you can use panning to route your sounds to either of the 2 outputs. Besides that, you can manipulate, compress the trigger input response, and set the output level for each channel. I know it's not exactly the same but with some preparation you can probably find the right balance between your drum sounds.

3P will be 699 Euros, so about 800 USD. Cheaper than the original nd2 and pad combo

Shouldn't we be seeing blow-out pricing on the Nord Pad soon?

Can the Nord Drum 3 load Nord Drum 2 patches? This is not clear to me from the press release.

with different parameters sets it seems a pretty sure bet programs will not be compatible -- really, it's not possible for them to be compatible

Actually the Nord Drum 3's reverb and delay are per-channel (at least, for amount)
