Archive Error in Stage 3??
Hi guys - I'm trying to Restore the sounds and programs from one Stage3 to another.
So - I backed up Stage3 (A) in Nord Sound Manager, and now I'm trying to Restore the sounds in the new Stage3 (B) in Nord Sound Manager - but I'm only getting:
"The Backup archive you have selected does not match the content version of the connected instrument (archive is v0, instrument is v3)"
Is there any workaround for this - it would save me ALOT of hours ...
Btw - I dont have the Stage I backed up from any more. Only the file: Backup 2017-12-21.ns3b
Thanks!
Martin

Re: Archive Error in Stage 3??
Which OS versions was used on the original archive? And which version of the nord sound manager? And which OS version on the new NS3?
The format of the programs changed quite a lot around OS 1.22. If you came from a pre-1.22 to the latest, there might be problems. You could possibly consider downgrading to a previous OS, restore the backup, and then upgrade to the latest OS -- but as I haven't tried this myself, I cannot guarantee there could not be any adverse results from this.
You could ask Nord, but I think they are all heading for a Christmas break now, so you're maybe not likely to get a quick reply.

Re: Archive Error in Stage 3??
Do you remember the OS on the Stage (A)? I just looked at my download folder but I do not have an old OS version for the Stage 3 around :/ Anyone else maybe?

Re: Archive Error in Stage 3??
Thanks for quick replies! @baekgaard and @rockyraccon..
I updated Stage (A) just before i did the backup (which took over an hour by the way), so both instruments have the latest os. The sound manager os used for the backup, I think, was v.6.84. And the one I'm trying to do the Restore with is the newest one.
What do you reckon "archive is v0, instrument is v3" could mean?

Re: Archive Error in Stage 3??
You can do the restore manually and by parts.
- Copy Backup 2017-12-21.ns3b to another file .... "Backup 2017-12-21 - copy.ns3b"
- Rename "Backup 2017-12-21 - copy.ns3b" to " Backup 2017-12-21 - copy.zip"
- Unzip the Backup 2017-12-21 - copyLive
- now you can see a folder structure, like this
Piano
Program
Samp Lib
Settings
Song
Synth
meta.xml
- Just access the information that you need inside the folder and copy to Nord manager... in your new NS.
Note that you need copy all dependance ... ex.: Program / Piano / Samp Lib

I tried this - but the programs come out as i.e. "Bambino Upright.xxxx" so the manager won't recognize the formatrsfelicio wrote:You can do the restore manually and by parts.

You need version 7.12 for the latest OS -- so maybe start by upgrading your sound manager, if it really is that oldSommerjohn wrote:The sound manager os used for the backup, I think, was v.6.84.

Re: Archive Error in Stage 3??
Since the Nord Stage 3 wasn’t actually supported until 7.02, I’m gonna say “yeah.”

I'm quite sure it will, unfortunatelySommerjohn wrote: i backed up old Stage3 with OLD soundmanager OS - but would that really make a difference on the output backup file?
