Sequence of repeated chords

Post by xugalde »

Hi there,

I would like to know about this possibility:

As far as I know the Arpeggiator only plays the notes of a chord in a row (one after the other).

¿Is it possible to use the Arpeggiator in Chord mode (all the notes simultaneously but repeating the chord as a sequence of chords)?

Thanks in advance,
Xabier

If there is, I don't know how to do it. I don't think it's possible unfortunately.

It's not possible. What you are talking about seems more like sequencing, which is not present in the Stage series.

Depending on the exact application, you may be able to adjust the delay to repeat the chords, setting the feedback time to correspond to stop when the next chord is played. I did this for Girls Just Want to Have Fun and it worked very well-

Is in the NS3 any possibility to repeat chords like an arpeggiator chord mode??

I‘m afraid not.

HOWEVER: There is another solution not mentioned here:

You can have a Square or Sawtooth LFO waveform assigned to either the filter modulation or amp modulation, to get a “repeating” sound of whatever you happen to be playing. This can be synced by external MIDI clock or synced to the master clock for timed delays etc., or set by hand.

This means that whatever you play has to be exactly inter beat, and a drummer has to hear you REALLY well (or hear a click from the same external clock), but it is another option.

On top of these there are relatively affordable standalone MIDI sequencer solutions for streamlining this kind of thing.

Or are you looking for a patch for the Stage 3? This thread is a lot older than the Stage 3...
