Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
I'm a long time Stage user, not having made the step from NS2 to NS3 yet, maybe because of this:
I really miss the 4 A-,B-,C- and D-"BANK" buttons from the NS2 on the NS3 which combined with the 5 "PROGRAM" buttons gave me quick and easy access to 20 (4 x 5) programs (all on one "PAGE") with only 2 buttons pressed (BANK X + PROGRAM Y).
Now on the NS3 scrolling using the program dial would be ok though - IF THERE STILL WAS "PENDING LOAD" MODE! Without pending load mode, if I scroll while still playing, every program I scroll over until I reach my destination program makes a short sound - instead of being silent... That's awkward to say the least...
Who else would like to see "pending load" be back in the NS3?
(Could be easily implemented via software...)
Best regards, Alex

Re: Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
YES YES YES! I play a lot of gigs where songs are called out, so "Song List" mode is not useful in these settings. Instead, I use "pending load" on my NS2 to find the next program while still playing the previous one. PLEASE bring it back!!!

Re: Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
I agree. I'm another player who may not know in advance what song is coming next or what sound I might need.
On my NS2, I used the same "20 most common sounds within 2 button presses" approach as the OP. (In fact, I think I was the first on the forum to suggest it!) When I moved from the NS2 to the NE5D, the closest I could come was to create a "Song 1" with 4 favorites (though some of those could be pairs of sounds), and a "Song 2" with 4 more favorites, and I could always get to any of those 8 Programs with, at most, a knob twist and a button press. But yeah, I got bit by the lack of pending load.
Let's say my first "Song" is
Piano---Rhodes---Wurli---B3
and my second "Song" is
Strings---Brass---Clav---Harpsi
If I'm playing Piano, and I have a Brass part coming up, as soon as I turn the Program knob to Song 2 (in anticipation of needing to get to the Brass sound), my Piano immediately cuts off.
The "pending load" solution would be for there to be a (Global) setting, that scrolling to a new song does NOT change the sound you're playing UNTIL you press one of the 4 sound select buttons. From an interface/feedback perspective, there are a number of ways this could be communicated... The way I'd probably do it is, once you've moved to a different Song, the 4 green lights above the 4 sound select buttons would all blink, to indicate that they're waiting for you to push a button to confirm your selection (while simultaneously communicating that you're not *currently* playing any sound associated with any of those four buttons).
I expect that that same approach would work on the NS3.

I thought they fixed this after an update?if I scroll while still playing, every program I scroll over until I reach my destination program makes a short sound - instead of being silent...

Re: Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
No sure what you mean, sorry. Maybe you're mixing this up with "seamless transitions" - these DID have some problems that have been fixed, now they work as they should.Nadroj wrote:I thought they fixed this after an update?if I scroll while still playing, every program I scroll over until I reach my destination program makes a short sound - instead of being silent...
But "Pending Load" has silently been taken away from the NS3 - it was never explicitly mentioned anywhere. If it was there (my preferred scenario!), it would be like this when activated:
Scrolling over programs to reach a desired program would NOT let all these programs make a sound if you keep on playing - great! And THEN, when you have reached the "PAGE" via scrolling (or using one of the two "< PAGE >" Buttons) where your target program is located, you finally press one of the five PROGRAM buttons to activate it. Now in that moment a "seamless transition" happens as it should.
Best regards, Alex

Re: Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
I agree 100% and my NS3 is sitting idle in my studio (several weeks now) until this feature is restored. The primary reason I started with Nord Stage Class is was the ability to interact live with the control panel. Now I have to have a "setlist"? My band doesn't use one... This is a huge step backwards and this unit will be sold if this feature is not on the fix list.

Re: Please bring back "pending load" mode on the NS3
I can confirm that the sound will continue as your scroll on the NS3 if you are holding down a "pad" or sustain pedal (thanks to seamless transitions), but you are correct in that it does not allow you to keep playing the previous sound while you scroll. Would be a great feature addition/re-implementation, though!

Has anyone received an answer from Nord confirming this feature is on the fix list?
