They have had completely adjustable split points before, like on the Nord Lead 3.

My thought was that they could provide a way to adjust the split point to any note, and then the nearest light would flash rather than remain on steady, indicating that the split was "approximately" but not "exactly" at that point on the keyboard. Possibly a bi like the way a lot of synths have an LED on the oscillator tuning... when its solid, it's right in tune, if it blinks slowly, it's just slightly detuned, and it blinks more quickly if it is even farther away from true pitch...

Thanks. So I don't regret that I got the NS2 since it's a dealbreaker to me (not that I was planning to upgrade).
It would be so nice if they could port it back to the NS2 even if it means an alternative firmware file (I understood it's technically possible but there isn't enough memory for both).
And I was worried - all the way down to the ground
When it comes to holding safety nets
Nobody seems to be around

Yeah.. also the NLA1 is flexible with its split points.. But I was talking about the Stage Pianos, also NE5, with the LED-indicators that tell you where you split point is. I'll actually rather have that LED-point over a 100% flexible point. And I'm sure also the optional crossfade now makes a difference..

I think it's more a matter of the Set List mode allowing you to more easily group specific sounds next to each other as needed, so you might not have to scroll so much to get from one sound to another, which is when you most need the pending mode, since scrolling to locate a sound can take a significant amount of time. Pending mode took some of the pain out of scrolling mid-song, but the better idea is to minimize the need to scroll mid-song at all!

That said, I do kinda miss the bank buttons. For things that are not song-specific but just sounds you go to all the time, you used to be able to get to twenty presets without scrolling, just by hitting one or two buttons... A 1-through-5, B 1-through-5, C 1-through-5, D 1-through-5... now I guess it's just 1 through 5 and then you have to scroll.

Well, seems like there are bank button just below the Program wheel.
I have been to lazy to set it up on my Classic, so I am used to scroll.

Right! I just added to my post that Banks can be switched with BANK LEFT / RIGHT.
On the Nord Stage 3 homepage it says it is now 8 Banks à 50 Programs.

Yes, but that's not the same kind of thing.

On the NS2, pressing BANK B, SOUND 2 will *always* take me to my mellotron choir (or whatever). But "BANK RIGHT, SOUND 2" will take me to a different sound depending upon what bank I was in in the first place.

JoniKlein wrote:The MORPH function of the NS3 has changed, as you all know. A lot more parameters are morphable now, which is really great!
I see there's still no velocity morph, which I had on my Nord Wave. And actually, the one reason I'd really like that would be to velocity-switch from one sample to another (say, from a brass note to a brass fall, or a pure flute note to an overblown note). I would love for Nord to add some method by which, instead of both slots playing their samples all the time, the sample in Slot 1 would play between velocity X and Y, and the sample in slot 2 would play between velocity Y and Z. (It doesn't need to be a "morph" per se.)

Exactly what i'm think about, even better they could come out with this feature on the nord sample editor, so one sample to normal keys, and other for after touch. In this case we don't even need to use one more slot.

Aftertouch and velocity are very different, though. If you want the sound of an overblown flute, you want it when you initially strike hard, not introduced as an effect by pressing harder after you've already triggered the note.
