Nord Electro 5D organ hard to sound clean
Nord Electro 5D organ hard to sound clean
I love the organ on the Nord E 5D 73 but it seems really hard to get a clean hammond sound. I had a real Hammond and leslie back in the day so i know it has growl but also can get a clean sound. Not a huge problem but i have overdrive completely off and i hear the growl. I know some people have complained about this before. I am looking for a solution to get a clean sound. Really like the organ sound but it seems to have growl at low volume levels. Any thoughts or suggestions to clean the organ sound a bit. Thanks for reading.

I just posted another thread about the Sound menu, but have you tried switching the B3 Tonewheel Mode from "Vintage 1" (the default setting), to "Clean?"

The Leslie sim has an overdrive element (digital distortion) that can't be removed. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

I tried the clean and not much better and i will leave on Vintage 1. I like the sound but i would prefer a clean sound at times. But the world is not perfect either.

That 'good idea' is why I got rid of my Electro 5D. There were many things I liked about the instrument, but the Leslie sim wasn't one of them.Ledbetter wrote:The Leslie sim has an overdrive element (digital distortion) that can't be removed. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

Maybe Nord will do an update that will fix this issue for a clean organ sound

That would be great and I'd probably buy an E5HP if they did. But it's been about a year and they haven't fixed it, so I'm not holding my breathe... Clavia considers the new sim to be an improvement. Re: Nord Electro 5D organ hard to sound clean
Turn your spkr/comp all the way to left that works for me and my
B3 sounds clean you might have to do some other tweaks but
That's the first thing I do
