No delayed vibrato with samples

Post by Bernard »

Hi guys,

Can someone confirm the following bug please? (NordStage2)

In the synth section there is the delayed vibrato button. This works not with a sample as source for the synth section. In this case, the vibrato is immediately present, no matter which method (1,2 or 3) of vibrato delay is switched on. Vibrato by aftertouch and by wheel are working correctly of course.

With all the other sources (waves, basic waveforms, fm) the delayed vibrato is working correct.

Apart from this, I think it's a pitty that the vibrato does not fade in after the delay, but it is switched only.

thanks in advance,
Bernard

Hello Bernard,
which sample are you using?
Is it one that has built in vibrato? If so, it will have vibrato regardless of the synth's vibrato controls.
Cheers, Hanon

Check to see if if the skip sample attack (shape knob) switch is to the left(right skips). Also check the sound menu; synth delay vibrato amount is set to more than 0 cents

@ redboard,
the parameter in the sound menu sets only the strength (amount) of the vibrato. It is set to something like 20 or so. Thanks.

@ Hanon
thanks for the hint to the sample number. Yes it seems to be, that there are samples, where the delay works, and others where not.
I used the sample no 97 (MM Hammer Mini Lead). If there is nothing set by the vibrato button, no vibrato occurs. AT and Wheel are working correctly, but the settings Dly 1, 2 and 3 produce vibrato immediately, without delay. So the sample itself has no vibrato.
Other samples I checked are working correctly. Strange.
I have to look, if there is a delayed vibrato option in the sample editor, which influences this behaviour. But as far as I remember, there's no such parameter.

I think, I've found the fault. It depends not from one or another sample.
If using a sample together with the voice modes *mono* and *legato*, the delay does not work for the vibrato. Switching off the voice modes to polyphonic, the delayed vibrato works fine.

If anyone can confirm this, I report it to Clavia, hoping they fix it with the next update. Thank you.
