I've found a pair of EVs ZLX-12P's has done me really well with my electro 4. The organ sounds great and the pianos are crystal clear. Until recently I was playing with a southern rock band and it was more than enough to compete with a marshall stack + mesa boogie + ampeg bass cabinet. I never have had to go more than +3 on the output. I also bought a small yamaha mg line board off of Ebay basically brand new for 50 bucks. So I can mix my synth in or add external effects.

Another nice feature is that the EVs work when you need a small PA - for instance my rig worked great for a friend's wedding with a piano + acoustic guitar + vocals. And I recently did a gig where we used it for a small party as well. So you get a lot of versatility you don't get with a traditional amp.

On another note, I"ve been looking at the Center Point Stereo Spacestation V.3, but haven't heard one yet. It has seen good reviews around the internet.

edit: just saw the mention of the SS on the previous page. I need to get my hands on one! gotta give it a minute because i just talked my wife into buying myself a dsi mopho for my birthday Maybe next year.

Spacestation does sound better with a sub but it still does well on its own.

It sounds amazing, better then any amp or speakers I've tried. Piano, rhodes, organs - super clean sound. And you won't have any problems with volume (it can go super loud). The only thing is you can't try one (they are only available on Sweetwater through online ordering)

I just bought the Spacestation and I'm absolutely blown away how good it sounds with Leslie Rhodes and grand. Great power I run it it on 3 and everyone hears it!

what are your thoughts on the low end coming out of the spacestation? the design and concept has always intrigued me but i've heard it's a bit lacking in the low freq. also, i have a traynor k4 and have been looking to upgrade to something with a wider stereo spread. i know it's also a wee lighter which would be nice... but hows the volume? i battle next to a very loud guitarist. thanks!

I use it for organ with left hand (and pedal) bass, and a sub is absolutely essential to do this. Otherwise I miss some specific bass quality in the sound (tried to go without). For other things it depends on what you expect. If you don't have to play the bass parts in your band, the SSv3 should do it on it's own. For solo acoustic piano, some people find the sound without sub to be too thin.

A week ago, I ordered a Spacestation from Thomann.de with the not-happy-money-back guarantee...
Two days ago, I returned it

Although it did sound superb for Hammond with Leslie, and quite nice for piano,
it did leave me behind with three problems:
- all my presets would have to be reconfigured for the pseudo-stereo effect,
but if I would do this, this would give a wrong impression of the sound that would go to the FOH
- in the low end, it rapidly destorted when playing loud
- it has very limited input options, in comparison to my Yamaha DXR10

If this would be my first amp, or if i didn't already have the wonderful Yamaha DXR10, it would stay.
However, I tried it in order to see if it could replace the DXR10, and it doesn't, in terms of volume and clarity/presence.
If I had some good amount of spare money, it would stay, because it sure is a nice product.

Have used a fender twin reverb 65 re-issue ... brutal. I run thru a Radial stereo DI before going into any board as any use of an expression pedal without it rages. Currently, running through a pair of QSC K12's and a K-sub from a small Yamaha board. Then, I have the band come over to my house to play
