Hi,
I get an invasion of pedal noise when I play back a midi clip that just sounded fine while recording.
It's ok under Ableton Live. It bad under Bitwig Studio.
Here under I put the screenshots :
- Live show CC#64 (sustain) being with value 0 or 127 with nothing in between.
- Bitwig makes slopes.
This does not cause any problem with a Nord Electro 4D
so I guess the slope is interpreted by the Nord Stage 2 as continuous analog signal for piano pedaling ( Nord triple pedal noise feature ).
I do not have Nord Triple Pedal and the "pedal noise" button on the NS2 is OFF.
I only have a Yamaha FC5 switch for sustain pedal.
My NS2 menu pedal type setting is auto:close.
I'm stuck, can't record midi properly, I'm looking for help, ideas, advices.
It it a NS2 problem or a Bitwig problem ? or other ?
Cheers,
Frantz.

Hi ArfNtz,
I have to guess that if it is working okay in Ableton and not in Bitwig that Bitwig is the problem (never heard of that one before -- but I don't get out much!).
Bless,
Pablo

Re: Issue with sustain, MIDI and Nord Stage 2 and Bitwig ...
Hi Pablo,
Strange thing isn't it !
I tried with 2 other keyboards, and always using a simple sustain pedal (switch),
Bitwig Studio makes slopes ... it cannot send a 127 or a 0 straight away, it makes slopes, values in between !
So it does come from the NS2.
I have to go back to another daw.
That's unexpected. I contacted Bitwig support.

... and Bitwig support replied, a fix is on its way
Great support from Bitwig.
thx to Nord pedal noise feature that revealed the problem.
