Yup - they are expecting a shipment on Friday. I pre-ordered mine in January so I'm told I near the top of the list. Apparently they don't know how many they are getting yet. Some onine stores are showing the hp 73 in stock. Guess those shipped first......Jmckee1990 wrote:New to the group and Nord world, but I ordered an Electro 5d 73 last month as well, Sweetwater Rep also told me that ship date would most likely be the 5th or 6th of June, THIS WEEK! Heres to fingers crossed.

Re: U.S. arrival of the Electro 5
Hello Nord musicians!
This is my first post. The 5D61 will be my first Nord. I ordered mine through Kraft Music. They have great service. They customized a bundle for me with a GB61 and a Nord/NorthFace jacket. My sales rep confirmed that they are scheduled to receive and immediately ship out their initial orders by the end of this week, so I expect to have mine sometime next week.
Like okiechris, I found it hard to choose between the 61 and 73. Having those lower keys is sweet, especially with that low E. As a guitar player I really appreciate that. For many having at least 73 keys is critical, I'm sure. For me the 61 is the right choice for these reasons.
1. Portability. This jewel is mana for gigs. You just can't beat it. Such a powerful instrument in such a tight footprint. This is a true feature.
2. 61 C to C is classic organ and I am used to it. For my composing and playing it is rare that I wish for greater range. You can bet I will get a Stage 3 when that mythical muse materializes and having an Electro with 61 keys will be a real differentiator, since the Stage models have a minimum of 73.
3. The new split feature combined with octave shift makes it ever so easy to lower the bottom for baselines.
4. $500
5. I prefer the aesthetic of the 61 a little more. The tight footprint just looks right to me... and this is small detail... but I like the way the 61 has the top white labels and corresponding ports on the back nicely aligned with the control panel. The HP is like that too, but on the D73, the headphones hang out a little to left. Does that really matter? Of course not. But the visual balance of the 61 just looks a bit more considered.
It's been awhile since I lusted after an instrument. Thanks Nord. Thanks to the creator of this forum as a great resource. Thanks to all of you.

I was about to suggest the same thing! I think my rep is getting really tired of my weekly calls.Jmckee1990 wrote:So who here wants to be the one to Email first thing tomorrow to Sweetwater Reps to see if they in fact did or are arriving? Ha

Dank je wel, Keys Wizard! It's going to be fun...
My rep at Kraft called me to tell me mine had arrived and is shipping tomorrow! I must say that I am quite impressed with their service thus far.
Nordspeed to you all.
