Re: Nord Stage 2 pitch stick
In synth section you can use mono legato mode with glide time to pretend to bend beyond 2 semi-tone limit...

Re: Nord Stage 2 pitch stick
I agree, it would be nice to set a bigger range. Pablo's suggestion is a good one - gonna try it
AlQuin's demo of the art of the pitch-stick is even better!! Nice work! - 2 cents doesn't seem to bother him

(Edit: Ok, 200 cents for all you pedants out there!

Re: Nord Stage 2 pitch stick
This has been discussed here many times: what about a pitch shifter/harmonizer?

Hi,
Paul
Sounds like the RANGE is still not greater than 2 x semitone up/down though?neolithic wrote:AlQuin's demo of the art of the pitch-stick is even better!! Nice work! - 2 cents doesn't seem to bother him![]()

Re: Nord Stage 2 pitch stick
Correct.
I think there are a couple of reasons for this.
One is that for soloing, most expressive bends I personally use are in the -2 to +2 semitone range. I don't find this limitation very important in my playing. I have a patch for Major Tom by Peter Schilling that utilizes Pablo's suggestion to give that long slide up in the middle of the song. I think that patch is called MTom Effect.
Also, the Nord Pitch stick is so sensitive (much more than a wheel, in my opinion) and has a much more narrow throw that the designers may have thought too difficult to control the sound effectively over a 1 or 2 octave range.
Just some thoughts on this.

Re: Nord Stage 2 pitch stick
The pitch bend range was set to 2 semitones up and down. Where you hear the pitch bend greater than 2 semitones its because the glide feature was set to a small value. When small intervals are played this feature just creates a gliding type of effect but when notes are played octaves apart (which is what I did at times) it creates a multi-octave bend. I hope this makes sense.
