Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out this problem. Throughout the past 3 weeks, when I play certain keys on my Nord Lead 2X the sound cuts in and out, regardless of what patch is used, what outlet the keyboard is plugged into, what cable/output is used, etc...
You can see a video of the problem here:

It seems like there is a contact problem, where the depression of the key gets registered randomly. This problem is intermittent, where the keyboard will often go several minutes before the problem returns. I have carefully cleaned the board containing the key contacts using 91% isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, but this has not helped at all. I've also vacuumed out the whole area beneath the keys to make sure there wasn't any dirt/hair/dust getting in the way, but this, too, has not helped.
The keyboard has experienced no trauma, and has otherwise functioned perfectly for the last 7 years. I'm running out of ideas, so if anyone has a clue what this could be, I'd love to hear it!
Thanks

Re: Nord Lead 2X Key Problem
Not sure if you figured this out yet, but you might want to try reloading the operating system and settings via MIDI. Files are on the Nord site.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Nord Lead 2X Key Problem
I'm sorry, but the Leads, except the Lead3, are upgraded by an Eeprom chip.

Re: Nord Lead 2X Key Problem
Minor clarification:
the Nord Lead 2X does not use an interchangeable EEPROM chip for OS. Since that OS is still on v1.0, the issue has never really arisen, but if/when a new OS is written for that instrument, it will almost certainly load via midi.
That OS will probably never be revised however, since it is effectively the culmination of NL1/NL2 experience, they pretty much got that one right the first time around.
Bless,
Pablo
