Keyboard Octave Shift
Hi,
Got my A1 (first Nord synth besides ND2) yesterday and was playing around with it today when I noticed something odd. When playing notes with long sustain and switching keyboard octave shift the notes before the notse died, the notes changed pitch according to the key oct shift change. Shouldn´t they sustain in the same pitch that I played it in? It´s note an issue of polyphony. Does this happen on other Nord keyboards?
Thanks,
Magnus

Hi Micke,
Thanks for checking this. How did your A1 respond?

Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
Thanks. I emailed with Clavia regarding the issue and there is an option to change Octave shift so the notes plays out when changing Octave shift. Hold + Left Octave shift button. The Octave Shift lights will invert except the selected octave. This setting can be saved with Performances, but not Programs/Patches. I asked them to make the machine remember my preference as a global setting throughout all patches as an upcoming feature. Let´s hope they decide to include it.

Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
Doesn't Hold + Left Octave remain when you change patches? At least on the NL2 the corresponding feature (Left + Right Octave) remains set until you switch it off.
Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
Hold plus the left Octave Shift button isn't doing anything in Performance Mode on my A1. What am I missing? Anyone have any luck?

Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
Sorry, it´s Shift + Left Octave. Forgot to write it properly in my last post.

Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
Hey thanks!
Shift + left Octave Shift does work. So far it appears it doesn't remain "on" when switching Performances. But it seems it also works in Program Mode, and does stay "on" when changing Programs. Anyone else see this?
I'll go try some more tests...

Re: Keyboard Octave Shift
It makes sense that it doesn't stay on when switching patches in Performance mode, if indeed the choice of octave shift mode is part of a Performance patch. It is not part of a single patch, so therefore changing single patches would not affect the octave shift mode.
