Re: Coated my Stage2 with DC-Fix
I'd like to have my NS2 black coated too.
But for that, I wish that the control panel was black and separated from case.
If it was like this, like on some NE et NS before, then it would give a better visual result (to my taste) when black coated, because one could not see the red anymore. I'm sorry for red lovers, I like diversity, a black coated Nord keyboard would be nice and still be a Nord in my opinion / taste.

I went to see 'The War on Drugs' the other night in Manchester UK, and their keys player's nord lead was all black. Looked pretty smart!

Re: Coated my Stage2 with DC-Fix
Looks like my 1970s Roland Jupiter 4 or SH1000.
Hummmmm. not sure.
Now if it had been the whole thing in Blue or Purple.....
Years ago Roland did a limited release of the SH101 in Red and other colours - perhaps Nord could do a NS2 in Blue etc and charge an extra £K?
Eddie.

Re: Coated my Stage2 with DC-Fix
I thought about that too, but proved to be too complicated to do from one piece and several pieces would be pain in ass to make look seamless... If I'd be 100 percent sure that I will never have to sell my Stage (and had the coin), I would have painted it permanently black and made the control panel (white text, gray and brownish? backrounds) on top of it.ArfNtz wrote:I'd like to have my NS2 black coated too.

And, the coating process was quite simple, just time consuming and required steady hands and patience

/AmicalementMr Nordelius: We have request sometimes for other colours. Kraftwerk asked for grey or blank synthesisers many years ago, and we said no and they didn’t buy them. But we didn’t want to repaint them.

Re: Coated my Stage2 with DC-Fix
Well, my friends Red SH101 actually sounded better than my stock Grey one.
So perhaps Blue NS2s wouldn't be as groovy.....

Re: Coated my Stage2 with DC-Fix
Not worth it unless you go totally black... ends, panel, top. But the keys reversed is overboard for me... Just keep it simple and not red if you are going to mod your nord. I don't think that you reduced your resale value because you can reverse the process but i think that if you really did a good job with black truck bed liner spray paint and a new panel screenprint, you may actually increase the resale value of your instrument. People are growing tired of the red in my opinion and would pay for a pro looking board that could look nice with a board like a kronos or a roland, motif, etc. I think that thread from the black nord says that they charge 1500 to do the black mod... it doesn't cost anywhere near that much in time or materials. People do it because they don't want the red color but want to have the sounds that make people love Clavia... I wonder what would have happened with this company had they not started with the red color?? Thoughts??
