Help! I rent my Nord Stage 88 1 to a friend and he brokes it

Post by Rainer »

Hello People!
What should I do? I send it to Nord but they can't change the chassis because it's an old version and they don't have any of them any more! The broken keys they could change but now my Nord Stages Chassis is completely wrong!
The guy who broke sit sad he will take response for it but says he won't buy a new one, what would you say ?
I what is a completlY spoiled chassis more worth? The electronic is still working !

So sad to read this! Did you have an agreement with your friend prior to him using it? I don't know if filing an insurance claim is something you (or him) can do where you live, but that might help you replace it. Good luck.

(a) kill him
(b) Never ever lend your gear to anyone ever again!

This is the second story of friends who borrowed and damaged Nords I have read in the last few weeks! Seriously people! Buy your own!!

Dad the damage happen anywhere where it might be covered by insurance? E.g. in a car, in the home, etc...
If insurance is not an option (and I assume you thought of that already) I would either get him to buy you a used one from eBay or elsewhere, or take it as an opportunity to upgrade and get him to contribute to the new one :-)
And now for something completely different...

I hope your friend has third party liability insurance (Privathaftpflicht-Versicherung).

Maybe Pablo knows a stockiest in Germany who has some spare parts available.

Or see suggestion from neolithic.

HI Reiner
it should sound strange to you but maybe the solution is.....COACHBUILDER!!!! We are lucky to have nords..........chassis is made of METAL......
I had the same problem (take a look at the picture in this post.... http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... t=fabiokey )
I took the chassis out from the stage ( you got to be helped at least from a friend who is a "bit tech" if you're not.....)
took to a coach builder , he repeared it and it costed me 30 euros.....if you have one you trust , with a very gentle hand , this could be the fastest and cheapest solution....they work on 60.000 euros cars.....they can treat gently a nord metal chassis too.... :-)

hope it helps
Fabio

Hey Fabio - i'm guessing you are Italian(?), where they make beautiful cars and coachbuilders caress a car body like a beautiful woman...

In my country these guys tend to just hit things with hammers.

Hey Rianer!

In The Netherlands it is possible to claim such damage upon your friends insurance, but please, let him tell his insurance it happened inside his home, not somewhere outside or on stage, because if you do so, you will only receive what it's worth today, instead of what you bought it for. I'm not sure this is the same in Germany, but since we're close neighbours, you could give it a shot.

What i'd like to get off my chest too: he borrowed it from you, broke it, and won't buy you a new one? Great friend you've got, I would demand him to replace or completely repair it.

Hope this helps, succes!
