Very Cool ! How sweet is that ?
I don't see any amps even though I do see a lot of Nord products.
What did they play through ?
How was it recorded ?
Sorry, I gotta admit I like this stuff.

In Youtube, below the title of the track you can read:rb4u1 wrote:I don't see any amps even though I do see a lot of Nord products.

"Nord C2D jam session with swedish renowned organist Pierre Swärd and world famous C2D player Joey DeFrancesco at Nord HQ in Stockholm, Sweden.
Recorded live through Leslie 122 and 3300 cabinets."
But I also don't see any Leslie or speaker...

Well, I gotta just say - Mr Sward must have some set of gnads to even consider sitting down next to the king - Joey D. On top of that, to hog all that playing again, from JD is just rooky. Plus, and this is just my 2 1/2 cents, the guy didn't impress me much with his licks. Sorry to be snarky about it, but when I see the title "World renowned organist..." and I see that type of amateur playing, fuggheddabaddit!

Who are you referring to? It says: "... jam session with swedish renowned organist Pierre Swärd and world famous C2D player Joey DeFrancesco..."The Franchise wrote:Sorry to be snarky about it, but when I see the title "World renowned organist..." and I see that type of amateur playing, fuggheddabaddit!
I would be quite happy to be able to play at PS's level.

One don't have to impress. There is no need for that. It's music, no competition. The Franchise wrote:Well, I gotta just say - Mr Sward must have some set of gnads to even consider sitting down next to the king - Joey D. Success, The Franchise! Pierre Sward has agreed to never again touch an organ and we have contacted all the thousands upon thousands of people who have enjoyed his playing over the years and they have agreed to hand their pleasure back. In addition, I would like to offer you $1 million for your amazing 'Art Measurement System' so that, in future, I will be able to tell if I am indeed enjoying any particular piece of music or not. In other words, please take your 2 1/2 cents and ram it hard up your arse where it will, no doubt, be crushed into a tiny, tiny diamond by your dark, angry spirit. Thank you! Keep swingin', Pierre!

Technically, I think he would have to use a lump of coal in order to produce a diamond. Not sure what they're making pennies out of these days, but I don't think there's much carbon to be found in there.
Yes, anyone would have to have some serious degree of self-confidence to sit next to Joey D, in front of a video camera no less, and jam a duet. Clearly Pierre is one such person, And bully for him. He did a great job under what surely must have been stressful conditions. Like Mr. G, I, too, would simply love to have Pierre's chops in my arsenal. Okay, so Pierre did hog the lead a bit, but it's not hard to imagine that, consiously or subscounsiously, Pierre might have felt that he had to play more in order to prove that he belonged in the jam sessionin the first place. Joey not trying to prove anything -- he just played it cool and sat back. There was at least once where Joey began to step in, saw that Pierre wasn't ready to step out, and Joey ducked right back out again to let Pierre continue.
Used to be in my tagline, borrowed from The Fireman, Capleton: "music is a mission, not a competition." Joey obviously understands that; he accepted and even enjoyed Pierre's playing. So tell me Franchise, how does one worship at the throne of Joey D and in the next breath espouse an opinion which is in violent disagreement with Joey D's? Just doesn't make sense... Free up your mind.
Bless,
Pablo
