Nord Lead 3 Sound Manager - Windows only?!

Post by sanderr2 »

Hi all,
I recently bought myself a 2nd hand Nord Lead 3. I want to wipe all the banks but want to be able to reload the factory libraries if needs be.
I initially downloaded the Nord Sound Manager 6.52 and couldn't get it to talk to my Nord (running 1.20) via my Fireface 800 so I used a direct Midi - USB interface instead but I still get the "Please connect your Nord instrument to the USB port" message.

Looking at the software downloads pages there appears to be a separate sound manager application for the Nord Lead 3 which only runs under Windows. Please don't tell me that the only way I can get my Mac to manage sound libraries on my NL3 is by running Windows...

Yours in a current state of disbelief,
Rob

Hej Sanderr2!

I do not find any info that the latest Sound Manager should be compatible with Lead 3.
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/software-t ... nd-manager
Or any sound manager? Lead 3 has no USB ...
"SysEx Dumps via MIDI to and from a sequencer / computer."

Please check with Ricard on this forum. He is a HW and SW guru and owner of several Leads ...

Hi Rob,

The unhappy news for you is that the Nord Sound Manager freeware is NOT compatible with Nord Lead 3. The happy news is that the NL3 has its very own software product. You'll find it on this link, along with all the other available files pertinent to the NL3:

http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/ ... ord-lead-3

You'll also want to grab a copy of the manual while you're there.

Bless,

Pablo
