Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Trouble Installing Nord Electro OS v3.04

Post by davo62 »

I have downloaded the Electro OS v3.04 but it won't install.
When I click it, it briefly begins to installs and then disappears

I also downloaded the Electro tool v3.00
I can't install this either. When I try I get the message:
"You can't open the application "Install Nord Electro Tool v3.00.exe" because Microsoft windows applications are not supprted on OS X"

I am on a 1 yo Mac book running OS X 10.9.1

Any help? I'd love to get the library working with my Electro again.

Isn't that error saying that you are trying to run a Windows .exe in OS X?
Did you try to download the Mac version?

Electro 2 Tool software will not run on that OSX. Per the Nord website page from which you downloaded those applications (emphasis original):

Windows note: The Nord Electro 2 Tool Software is not compatible with Windows 7 64bit.
The 32bit version of Windows 7 and Windows Vista 64 bit is supported.

Mac users: The Electro 2 Tool is not compatible with OS X Lion (10.7+) as this OS no longer supports PowerPC/Rosetta-emulation.
OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or older is required for the Electro 2 Tool to run.

Your instrument probably already has v3.04 OS installed; if EL 3.0 appears in the display, you're good. Count the number of times the decimal point at the end of the display blinks to confirm the 4.
