I'm really liking that ensemble effect, isn't it about time Clavia made a separate standalone FX unit that incorporates all these FX and Filter types on the synths.
I'd like to see them build a unit similar to the shape and size of the Nord Drum 2 case, but as an add on FX stomp box,it would fit nicely on the top right fascia of my Nord Lead 1,and of course be able to run other synths through it too.

Re: Nord Lead A1
I heard the "simple" chorus is also new and modelled on an old keyboard effect - Roland Juno6? Does anyone know?
Now that the ensemble chorus is done, if they put it in future Stage/Electro models, give the Farfisa organ model a Paraphonic A/R envelope option; then we have a modelled string machine!
I too think that Nord should consider producing a separate FX module.

Re: Nord Lead A1
It would be interesting to see a Nord FX module, but could they compete with other manufacturers? Nord stuff is not cheap, and there are many multiFX units already in the market.
OK, the Solina-type ensemble is not common, it sounds really good in the demo videos, but I guess it might be a matter of time until we see those in every other multiFX box.
I was impressed with the Zoom (stereo In, 6 chained effects ) multiFX pedal that Gustavo mentioned the other day.
http://zoom.co.jp/products/ms-70cdr
That costs less that a single boss delay pedal (DD7) and more or less the same as a Nord half-moon switch (!!).
The only thing it needs is a MIDI in, so each patch synchronises with the effect patch via MIDI PrgChng.
What it would be very interesting (but no idea if possible at all) is to let users configure which effects they want in their instruments (an alternative effects firmware?).
One can dream!

Re: Nord Lead A1
Hi guys,
I've been contemplating buying one of these Nord things for a while. Currently both the Nord Lead 4 and the (pre-order) Nord Lead A1 retail for 1299GBP. Which one do you think is the better buy? I don't have an instrument at the moment, I'd like to have 2 ultimately, one portable synth for leads and one larger for everything else (something like the Nord Stage 2). I went through this thread and from what I understand:
Nord Lead A1 - simpler modulation, perhaps better UI for live performance, less functionality, some new features, lighter
Nord Lead 4 - more functionality
Which one would you guys get for yourself if these were the two options? Thanks for your help.

Re: Nord Lead A1
The NLA1 has expanded f/x section compared to NL4: reverb and delay independently, and the phase/flange/RM/chorus/ensemble. Simpler interface, less knobs, bare bones arpeggiator, dual oscillator capability that runs pretty deep, but not quite as deep as NL4.
NL4 has hugely expanded arpeggiator function, traditional dual osc controls, delay or reverb (instead of and), different effects section with talk/crush/comb (and none of the NLA1's except O/D), and IMPULSE MORPH!
I think that the weight difference is less than 1lb or .5kg, so forget about that.

Re: Nord Lead A1
At the same price I would go for the NL4, but would be also interested to hear what others think.
