Yes, shame that it was this rather than e-pianos, but it seems increasingly probable that it will never happen.

I thought that the Quadra demo was a bit more interesting than the Odyssey one.
My first synth was an Teisco 11F which was made by Kawai under an ARP license (it had a sticker saying so!). Almost the same as the Odyssey, but with a ladder filter (sounds wonderful) and graphic equaliser (rare in that kind of synths) but without wave sync. It also has rubbery pads similar to the Odyssey Mark II and III. You can make way more interesting patches than those in the the sample bank, so I was a bit disappointed by several square wave Super Mario type of sounds. Oh well...

It's raining today and I have been noodling.

Talking of ARP synths, I have just laid down about 20 mins of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon, complete with electric bass "interval" string sound and Rhodes solo. I am pretty pleased with myself.....However, I have no problem getting pretty much any vintage synth sound (albeit without LFO on the EX) I can think of out of the very capable synth on board. The Rhodes, no matter how I tweak it is absolutely no good for soloing. It is NO GOOD and it's not good enough!!!!!

It lets the whole thing down. The bass and middle registers are fine. Really good, above about C4 it is pretty much unplayable, despite having loads of EQ mid slapped on.

I am really annoyed with the obvious poor performance in this bread-and-butter-zone.

What next? Some more acoustic pianos?

actually, I am hoping for some more historical instruments, harpsichords, spinets, pinaofortes, etc....

we all have our own needs and wants....

for some reason, Clavia just doesnt think the EPs need upgrading....
