I have a NE3 and stupidly I deleted all the pianos and other samples to start from scratch and just download the sounds I want from the website. However I never backed up the library incase I wanted to restore what I previously had. Now when I download grand piano samples from the Nord library, they sound really tinny and not 'full' like they previously did. Now I'm worried that I do not know how to fix this and I have a performance coming up in the next few weeks which I need the electro 3 for.
Any help and advice will be really appreciated!

Do you recall if you previously replaced any of the pianos with alternatives?
If not, you can probably restore your NE3 to the 'stock' setup by downloading the full backup memory.
Cheers,
James

Is it possible that you lost EQ settings as well? In my experience they are crucial to make most of the sound, depending of course on the acoustic chain. Try dialing in some boost in the high mids (1-2 kHz) for more presence, and a bit of bass for more body.
Among the grands the Bösendorfer Imperial (great bass), Fazioli (very balanced), Bright Grand (cuts through), Lady D and Studio Grand 2 (Yamaha C7) have most fans among performing musicians.

Re: Nord grand piano samples sound tinny! HELP!
A possible cause is you only have one line cable to your amplifier and are getting merged mono which is disastrous with stereo sounds as it causes a lot of frequency cancellation and takes the guts out it. Another way of performing this trick is to use left and right cables but plug them into mono mixer or amp channels that are also merging to mono by incorrectly panning both to centre.
