Re: Stereo Y cable output questions
I think this was done when the E2 was more of a staple. You can plug your regular 1/4" (unbalanced) cable into your regular amp coming out of the headphone jack. This will provide more gain (louder) and perhaps give you the sound you're looking for on Organ & Piano. This may not be technically (politically correct) but should provide you with an option.

Re: Stereo Y cable output questions
Thanks mjbrands. What your saying makes sense. Last night I was using more gain in my inputs and it sounded loud enough without clipping. I used the preamp before the mixer and I kept my speaker gain under 3/4. My keyboard volume was around 1/2 or more and the mixer channel was 1/2 or more and that same with the master gain.
So I think this is the right way to go.

Re: Stereo Y cable output questions
Does the E3 have a 'mono mode' like on the Stage EX Stage 2 and software revisions of the original Stage? I loathe running mono, but when I have to, mono mode does make a discernible improvement to tone.
Just a picky -but important- point about some terminology here- there is no TR jack (tip/ring). It will be TS for an un-balanced 1/4" jack.

Re: Stereo Y cable output questions
The E3 does has a mono mode button and a single left output dedicated as mono. If I'm not using two speakers so I'll be using a mono hookup. I've found this to be the best way and best sound with the equipment I have, which isn't bad at all. Maybe somewhere down the road I would consider to lightweight small speakers and use them for a stereo hook up. Something like two QSC 10's would be ideal, but way too expensive at this point.
I also found, with the help of those in the forum that trying to get a stereo sound from my one powered speaker produces odd results.

Re: Stereo Y cable output questions
I wonder if you could use this safely: http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/min ... splitmix4/
It's basically a passive mixer. Also splitter. I use it to combine 2 separate mixers monitor outs into one out to feed stage monitors (one mixer is vocal submix).
