Can't store Programs and Newbie question

My questions and please don't answer "RTFM" (red the f... manual)

It is possible to store a sound from channel 1 to channel 3 keeping all the settings of the channel 1? the manual says that each channel is identical but there is a list of sounds in the page 17 and each channel have different sounds.
I don't want to copy all the 4 channels to an user bank I want to copy only channel 1 to the channel 3 of a user bank/program.
Can anybody make a "newbie" step by step guide of how to do it?
