Sound Manager and OS not compatible

Post by torontogirl »

Hey all,

Just picked up a NS2, updated the OS to v1.7 from the website, and when I opened the Sound Manager program from the DVD it said it wasn't compatible with the OS 1.7. I then downloaded the Nord Sound Manager from the website and (5 hours later...), it said exactly the same thing. It's not compatible with v1.7

Am I going to have to wait in order to swap up some of these factory piano sounds?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum...

Mac or PC?

at least on the PC, the latest OS and the latest sound manager are compatible...also, why did it take you 5 hours to download sound manager, it is a comparatively small program???

Remember, on the PC, you also need the USB drivers, to be installed separately.

Uninstall SM, install again, with drivers. try again.

Hi, thanks for your help. It might be the internet connection here that makes the downloading so slow.

I'm on a relatively new Mac. I am going to uninstall the SM and try one more time. I think the old SM was still in the Applications folder and that is what opened.

I have always downloaded from the Nord Clavia website.
I have never used a disc. I use a Mac Core Duo from 2006.
It should work for you. Even though I use an E3 I have done this with
5 different Nord units & I'm not very computer savvy. Try it &/or return
The unit.

Are you sure that you have uninstalled the old SM?

What version does SM report? As in, what version of SM did you install?

Btw. Sound Manager sounds less dirty
