Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
Hello,
i have a problem with receiving Midi-Informations on my Nord Stage.
I just recorded some Notes in Logic and i want to send it back to the Nord and record the Audio -
but i don't get any Midi! I checked some tutorials and general information about the Midi Setups with Nords but i don't get the problem...
Is there any simple thing that i did not think about?
Midi in Logic -> Midi in a General Midi Instrument to Interface -> Interface to Nord Stage
maybe any additional corrections in the nord stage menu?
thank you for helping out

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
Hi,
it should be no problem using your NS with Logic. But you need to take care about the settings in Logic and the NS. In order to get the optimal MIDI settings on the Stage, you might want to read the great and very comprehensive Midi Tutorial by Henrik: http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... -t687.html
Otherwise, if you just cannot get ANYTHING, be sure to
1) Have the External Section ON
2) Let Logic listen to ANY Midi Channels and
3) have the right MIDI interface selected.
Or try a MIDI tool such as MIDI-OX (google) in order to see if the Nord is sending MIDI at all to your computer and to be sure it's not due to some messed up Logic settings.

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
OK, then it is almost certainly in the depth of the Nord Stage MIDI Menu where you have to set the right channels either per Panel or individual instrument. It is very well explained in the Tutorial, I know it can be a PITA until it finally runs like one wants it to!

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
MIDI is like a conversation. you can't connect MIDI IN (Logic) to MIDI IN (Nord Stage).klauss wrote:Midi in Logic -> Midi in a General Midi Instrument to Interface -> Interface to Nord Stage
if you want to use the NS as a slave, connect MIDI OUT (Logic) --> MIDI IN (Nord Stage).

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
I tried a different MIDI-Interface (Presonus Firebox) and now it receives Midi from Logic but my Nord does not send anything :-) Switched Problem...
I read the tutorial and tried different Midi-Settings but it does not send anything now - tried to send something to Logic and to Ableton Live... -
Is there a default setting in the Nord Menu that says "Now the Stage should send any Information out?"
Now its good to have the Nord receiving Information because i can get my Stuff to Logic with a different Midi-Keyboard but it would be more comfortable if my Nord would send Midi too...

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
I just want to send Notes... no programm change or stuff like that.
I want to send Midi-Notes to Logic, edit them and send them back to the Nord.
In Logic selected channel 1 to send the data back to the Nord -> The Nord MIDI Panel A is set to Channel 1

Re: Sending Midi via Logic to Nord Stage
So try to replicate the situation where the Nord ID send (2nd Post) and see what exactly you changed between the two situations.
Sounds like a tricked cable/config problem, but its hard to tell from away. Or try another keyboard maybe, to check whether the problem is a)PC b)keyboard c)Interface d)Cable. Good luck with the trial and error!!
