Nord Lead 2x no fuse/fuse holder

I'm a software/UNIX engineer, so any remark I make about hardware should be taken with a healthy dose of scepsis. :-p

Apart from the capacitors, I know of no other part on the Nords that could store a charge. And even those capacitors would loose their charge pretty quickly when it's not connected to mains power.

I know some Nord Lead 3's had issues, where they would suddenly reset. At least on some units this was traced to in issue with the PSU. See this thread: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much- ... d-3-a.html

I haven't checked my Nord Rack 3 for this issue: haven't had any issues so far. *fingers crossed*

In that thread, they also mentioned issues with an Electro 2 that turned out to be caused by a missing screw (holding the PSU down), probably causing grounding issues.

Anyway, I think you most likely wouldn't be able to find glitches on the power lines without the use of a scope.

I have a digital delay effect that has a similar "behavioural issue". I changed a number of capacitors, a diode and a voltage regulator. Every time I thought I have solved it as it started working fine... until after variable times it starts misbehaving. So some component is faulty and I am coming to the conclusion that I will never know which one.

Can't be updated by users. As far as I know there's also only one version for the 2X.

Hello again,
after playing several month and gigs with my repaired nl2x without any problems I recognized a new issue.
After turning the nl2x off and on again, the synth lost the patch numbers which i dialed up in the different 4 slots. There is just patch 1 in slot 1, patch 2 in slot 2 and so on. I can change them but when i turn it off and on again i have the same initial setting again.
Seems like a memory issue, but i thought everything is stored in a flash?
Someone an idea?

Set the Slots as you like > press Shift+Manual > save by pressing the red button twice > return via Performance to Program mode by pressing Manual twice without the Shift > shut down the synth. It should boot into the new combination.

I just find out you have to do this action not to fast. Looks like the synth can't keep up with me...
