Organ dual KB mode issue
Hi Guys. Looks like I've found a BUG in NS2. I'm NS2 SW73 owner. I decided to add a second keyboard as a MIDI semi-weighted keys controller for my NS2. I was going to use it as a lower manual for hammond simulation with my NS2. So basically I enabled dual KB mode and set appropriate midi channel in NS2. Then I noticed that the NS2 slot A doesn't let me use percussion. I can understand that on real thing you may use percussion only with Bb preset on upper manual but I don't expect that limitation with electronic keyboard. Moreover I would like to keep control over my NS2. So I want it to be on top of MIDI controller rather the have it underneath. Did anybody notice the same issue?

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
Yes, I've notices and read about this, but (be it due to DSP or "being like the real thing" considerations), it is indeed "built-in".
If you want to freely assign Perc to either slot, you might try to use standard MIDI, i.e.g, not the Dual Keyb feature instead, see also http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... t2712.html.

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
I still consider it to be the issue. It appears that Clavia designed it to work as lower manual. That limits the flexibility of possible setups and more appropriate for NS2 HA76/88 units which are more likely to be used as lower manual. I reported that issue to Clavia. Hopefully they will fix it in coming OS update.

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
If you wanto to obtain what you are looking form just don't use the Dual Keyboard feature but rely on assigning the correct MIDI channels to Organ A/B (or the whole Slot A/B) and selecting the slot on which you want the local NS keyboard to play
So if NS2 is to be the upper manual, assign Organ A to a MIDI channel (the master keyboard one) and play while Slot B selected on the NS

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
Thanks for suggestion maxpaino. That's certainly the way it may work but still it's rather a work around. As I initially described the way it works in KB mode makes me think Clavia didn't take into account that the NS2 SW73 owners may want it to be on top rather then on bottom tier in 2 keyboards setup. Another thing which frustrates me I have not heard back from Clavia Support team till now. I sent my original request on 26 Oct using their Technical Support page at http://www.nordkeyboards.com. That really puts Clavia in a bad position.

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
Got update from Clavia. They confirm that it's currently designed to work as lower manual in KB mode. There is a chance it could be fixed in next OS update.

Any news on this? I'm in the same position. If you want to have the Stage on top of another keyboard for easy access to draw buttons, you need to be able to assign the percussion to Slot A and you can't. The work around of not using Dual Kb mode is fiddly for another reason I won't go into here.

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
Well in that case then you'd netter not use the Dual Keyb, but rather have the NS on slot B and assign the Slot A Organ (or the whole Sot A) a Midi channel to be contoller by the (lower manual) Master

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
The problem with not using Dual Kb mode is that when you change the slot A or B focus to the one generating the lower keyboard's sound, it changes the upper keyboards sound to the same sound as the lower keyboard. It's not biggie but such a simple software fix, I would imagine.

Re: Organ dual KB mode issue
I, too, like to use my NS73 as the top manual and have wrestled with this problem. It's even worse when trying to use the Ocean Beach drawbars. I've had to settle for a confusing and inconvenient workaround.
