Velocity control with Morphing
Velocity control with Morphing
I'm just trying to adjust the velocity for my own sample as described in manual morph functions page 13 (with velocity, whell ped buttons+freq) but something goes wrong, can somebody explain step by step, please, how to adjust the velocity, to make sound sensitive to the power of pressing on the key? because a couple of times I got it, but I did not understand how it works. I repeat the same steps, but now it does not work. what am I doing wrong?

Re: Velocity control with Morphing
Hi Jadams,
The wording of your note is somewhat confusing:
I'm guessing that your goal is to use velocity as a morph source to control other synth parameters...?
There are two very similar ways to do program a Morph on your Nord Wave: two-handed and one-handed. Personally, I prefer one-handed. Once you get used to doing this, you will find that it is so amazingly easy to do that you can program a morph live on the fly at a gig while still playing with your other hand.
The number one basic rule for programming a Morph on ANY Nord instrument: the desired destination parameter should be set to the desired initial value BEFORE entering Morph Programming Mode.
Once you've got that done:
1) double-tap the pertinent Morph button (in this case Velocity)
2) turn the knob relating to the parameter you wish to control to the desired endpoint
3) single-tap the pertinent Morph button (where LED is blinking)
4) enjoy your new morph
On the Wave any and all parameters which have LEDs to their lower left are morphable. It's been a while since I counted them, but as I recall on the Wave that number is 26, making the Wave the Mac-Daddy of the Nord Morphing world!
Bless,
Pablo

I don't think that you are really trying to adjust velocity; that's the job of your fingers. When you make reference to "power of pressing" I have to wonder whether you might be talking about aftertouch...?I'm just trying to adjust the velocity for my own sample as described in manual morph functions page 13 (with velocity, whell ped buttons+freq) but something goes wrong, can somebody explain step by step, please, how to adjust the velocity, to make sound sensitive to the power of pressing on the key?

Re: Velocity control with Morphing
so I store the frequency for my sound to the minimum and then did everything you said and now it works, great, thank you very much!pablomastodon wrote:

Re: Velocity control with Morphing
Well, you can't have it both ways, because the aftertouch or velocity do not have a "negative" setting.
Maybe you should control this from a Control pedal and start your playing at the middle of your pedal setting.
