C2d or another clone...

Post by Octopus »

I am thinking about to buy me one more hammond clone. I already have a hammond sk2 and ventilator. I also have à nord stage 2. I like the organ in hammond sk 2 much more than the organ in nord stage 2.

I also thinking about to buy me à leslie to have at home and use ventilator for gigs.

Mojo
Hamichord
Nord c2d
Leslie 3300
An old leslie like 145,147 or 122
Active monitors... Etc

What would you have bought in My place?

Do i already have the nord c2 organ in My nord stage or is it à light version?

I really like nord stage 2!!!! But for the pianos and synth parts.

Has anyone tried mojo?

I don't see how you need another clone. You wold probably benefit from a real Leslie. I have a 145 and they sund great. You will need an 1145 kit to convert 11to 6 pin. Good luck.

Even if this is a Nord forum, I only can tell you that the Mojo is just a fine piece of gear for an organ player. It sounds plain beautiful, I had one at hand for a while and have now ordered one. If you already have a stage 2 you got all the sounds the mojo is missing (EP, AP, synth).
As you can read everywhere, a real leslie brings clones to life, so that could be a good investment, but for gigging with organ sounds the mojo is top imho. No need for vent, nor leslie.

these are played on a mojo (misty and sunny)

But you only get one set of drawbars per manual on the Mojo.
Having two per manual makes a difference for me in how you work your sounds. I rarely use the presets now when I have two sets per manual on my C2d.
And the nice thing about having two is that if you realice that your new sound is somewhat wrong you just tweak it on the fly.

I also think that the C2d has the best click emulation at moment on the market. I guess the others will copy in due time. The C2d has the correct responce when you slap the keys.

Of course the old hammond is still the King with the nine separate contacts. A skilled player can get a lot of extras out of attacking the notes slowly.

But I agree that VB3 from Guido has sounded fantastic since he realeased it. And getting better for each update.
I use it a lot with my C1.

I want one clone at home and one at the place where I play with my band (i replokalen). I am getting tired of carrying (by car) keyboards almost every week, I am lazy.

Yes :-) and together with My NS2 + stands etc ...more than 15 kg.

I want à real leslie and a clone "play ready" here at home all the time.

When giging every week, the sk2 often stays in the case here at home. Im lazy, sorry. And old (38).
