Roland JD-800 Drums... and some "Weeoohs"
Hi,
Just thought I'd share a couple of little fun creations I've made, weighing in somewhere around 1 MB each.
First up a sample bank of the Roland JD-800 drums. The samples were sourced from KB's drum sample archive (Google for "KB6 drums" and it should show top of the list, and 2nd, and 3rd, etc and is worth checking out), though it looks like there are a couple missing or corrupted, but I believe everything there is pretty much mapped as it should be, based on the information I could find online. Yes this means you can pretend to be Tony Banks and perform the "drum machine" part of I Can't Dance.
And also, for a bit of fun, I've used my JUNO-Gi and a "simple" synth sound to produce what Jeff Wayne calls the "weeoohs" as heard in the track The Eve of the War. When loaded onto my Electro 3 the three recorded sounds are on the top 3 "D" keys, making it much easier to pull off the three sounds in quick succession. Something of a one trick pony I know but I thought it was fun. It got a couple of smiles at a band rehearsal a couple of weeks ago.
Might not be the most widely useful things ever but sometimes it's nice just to have fun.

Excuse the poor sound quality as video just taken on my phone, but the sounds are just great. Thanks again for uploading.

Hi Zombieman,
do you have the sample in wav format too? I don´t want to resample from nsmp-format. I need wav format for other gear.
Thank you.
Greetings
Helmuth

Re: Roland JD-800 Drums... and some "Weeoohs"
Hi Folks,
I had to go to the Attic and blow the Dust of my JD-800 away.
I thought the weehoo-sample was that I needed. But I was wrong.
Here comes the most wanted/important sample (JD800 ICDance).
Have Fun!

I forgot to mention: Its for NS 3, but the wav is attached as well.
I also can make it for the NS 2 if needed.
Thanks.
