After working with it for a couple of days, I like it enough to use in a live performance, navigating patterns on the fly. But since I'm a bass player that's not practical -- my hands are fully occupied. However, I've got a Rolls MidiBuddy foot pedal board that sends out program change messages. It would be great if Nord Beat could map incoming program change numbers to Play on/off, along with shifting between the eight patterns (A-H). Tapping a foot pedal would trigger a jump to the corresponding pattern when the current pattern ends, so that a song could be used in an improvisation without ever messing up the beat.Sound do-able? Appealing?
For now, Nord Beat is a great practice tool. Adding MIDI-in navigation would open a bunch of possibilities.
