I just tested on my NS2 (also with firmware 1.64), with sound A:01:05 (Lisa Sound). I gave it a good whack like you did in your vid and it hardly had any impact on the sound, though the pitchstick itself was vibrating very loudly (that's normal). If you used it in a more controlled fashion, it changed the pitch of the sound as I expected.
So for me there's no issue with version 1.64. Does this also happen for you if you use it in a more controlled fashion? Judging from the sound in your vid, the impact it has in your setup is quite profound. I also can't think of a setting that might explain why I don't have this problem and you do.
Could you maybe connect your Nord to a PC (or Mac) using the USB cable and then check the pitch bend MIDI messages the NS2 generates? On Windows you could use MIDI-OX and on OSX you could use MIDI Monitor (both are free tools). You should see values for the pitch bend messages between 0 and 8191 (if I remember correctly) and they should change fairly smoothly if you smoothly move the pitch stick. If you whack it, lots and lots of those messages should be generated.
Downgrading to version 1.60 might not be a bad idea, but don't forget to backup before you do that. If you downgrade even further (someone posted a link to firmware 1.40 1-2 days ago), be aware that the format of the sounds stored on the Nord changed between 1.40 and 1.60. You probably need to upload all your sounds again for things to work normally again, if you were to downgrade to 1.40 (or older). I wouldn't go back further than 1.60 if possible.
Edit: you can currently still download 1.60 from the Nord site. Go to the download page for the firmware, copy the link for the firmware download and change the version number at the end from 1.64 to 1.60 (right-click the link and choose 'copy link location' or something similar). Clavia will probably take that download down at some point, they don't recommend downgrading firmware in general, I think.

Hey, thanks!
I just used the controller board for the b-slot and the controller pitch works just fine off the controller board. I'm hesitant to downgrade the os as I have an importent gig on saturday - don't wan't to mess up anything further, will just avoid the pitch stick.
Will keep you posted.

I think you're right being cautious; waiting until after your important gig before looking at this further sounds like a very good idea, if you can work with the way it works now.

I belief there were some other posts on that forum about pitch stick failure. It seams to be a common issue. The warranty period is just 2 years. Some people buy it from abroad and can't serve it at official service center free of charge under warranty. It would be useful if Clavia post some tutorial how to fix it on your own if that possible.

Yea, I searched the history and it looks like someone had the same issue. In live mode after using the pitch stick and getting scorns from everyone (except one drunk guy who loved it) I switched to piano. That preset was detuned half a tone down. Had to play Bbm on the fly, jeeezzz.

Let us know if you fix it.

FWIW, I strongly suspect that using LIVE button and/or updating to v1.64 were phantoms causes suggested by whatever happened to be going on in the moment when the failure occurred. It is a virtual certainty that this is a simple case of pitch stick failure and had nothing whatever to do with any other unrelated circumstances.j
It would be counter-productive to discourage folks from upgrading OS based on false impressions.
